After returning from a 5 day sabbatical where I guided fellow dentists through the art of anterior esthetic dental work, I am filled with excitement to share my experiences. With 18 dedicated dental professionals and 3 other faculty members, we explored the ins and outs of this specialty, combining essential theoretical knowledge with practical hand skills.

As a facilitator, it was a privilege to collaborate with talented dentist from all over the country. The faculty team I worked with offered distinct insights, making our time together both educational and inspiring. Their perspectives highlighted the power of combining individual knowledge and experiences.

The Importance of Anterior Esthetics in Dentistry

Anterior esthetic dental work plays a critical role in modern dentistry. It focuses on enhancing the aesthetics of a person's smile, which goes beyond merely fixing dental flaws. A beautiful smile can exhibit significantly improved function and fewer dental failures over time.

During the past week, we explored the principles of smile design, material selection and bonding/cementation techniques for achieving natural-looking and long lasting results.

Bringing Skills Back to the Practice

Returning home from this program filled me with renewed enthusiasm for dentistry. The skills and knowledge reinforced will directly influence how I address aesthetic needs for my patients. With the latest techniques, I can offer a higher standard of care, ensuring that each smile is crafted with precision.

I am committed to continuing my own education and giving back to the next generation of dentist. As one of our patients, you will hear that there are times I travel for "study clubs" or to "teach at the institute." The greatest way to solidify learning is in the doing and teaching. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to have this layer to my career. To my patients, thank you for creating the space to allow me to explore this part of my career in dentistry.
